The Institute for Music Leadership hosted the second annual Eastman Leadership Development retreat on Saturday, October 5th. The retreat was attended by high school music leaders from 9 different schools, along with several music educators, and centered on leadership development and community engagement.
Attendees worked with several Eastman faculty and staff on topics of identifying target audiences, musical entryways, and project management, along with a case study leadership session that concluded the day. The retreat also included an example performance by the Cantante Quartet, and a keynote address by educator and trumpet player Herb Smith.
